Facebook Buys FriendFeed
Posted by admin in Web Design on August 10th, 2009
It has been confirmed that Facebook bought FriendFeed for $50 million. Given that we utilize both services for our clients this doesn’t mean to much at the moment, other than maybe less work for us at Fresh Input down the road! lol. It will be interesting to see how Facebook integrates some of the FriendFeed technology. Maybe they are just after the talent pool of employees, who knows? Regardless of what happens we will continue to utilize both services on our clients behalf to effectively engage their customers.
I’m starting to think Google and Facebook enjoy sharing employees with one another too! Google has its history rooted in some of the most well know social media tools today. Facebook, Twiiter & Friend Feed to name a few.
Does Your Website Connect?
Posted by admin in Social Media on August 6th, 2009
While some may claim they are offering the services of connecting you and your website with social media channels they are missing the bigger picture. Simply placing the icons of social media websites such as Twitter, Facebook or Digg on your vehicles detail pages isn’t going to cut it.
I recently noticed an automotive solutions company advertising that they would provide this service for FREE. Yes FREE. What they aren’t telling you is that what they are doing should be FREE. They are doing nothing more than placing a simple small widget on your vehicle detail page. I’ll give them credit for taking the first step of many to get your website connected and engaging with the consumer but Fresh Input can show you the bigger picture when it comes to social media & marketing.
At Fresh Input Design we take your website & marketing strategy seriously and truly connect you to the Social Networks and build a branding opportunity not being offered by any other automotive web solutions company at this time. Feel free to check out a couple of our clients Marc Heitz Chevy and Evergreen Ford.
By developing fully integrated social media web solutions with your website Fresh Input is giving you control of your marketing message and reducing your marketing costs all while developing a strategy that will have your competitors scratching their heads at what your doing.

Social Media Must Reads
Posted by admin in Social Media on July 22nd, 2009
Today I am making a recommendations on 2 books I am reading and have read. Yes I am reading them more than once, they are that good. First off I am not writing a review on these books, simply making a strong suggestion, that anyone that works with online business and wants to continue providing the very best solutions for their customers, that you go out and read these books.
The first is “Twitter Power” by Joel Comm. This is a great book for any marketing strategy you would like to implement using Twitter. This book goes beyond Twitter though, and has great strategies for any online Social Media & Marketing campaign you want to run. It is important to take away the marketing concepts in this book, even if you haven’t jumped onto the Twitter bandwagon yet.
The second book is “What Would Google Do?” by Jeff Jarvis. I’ll admit I haven’t fully read this book and have had it only for a few days but I was sucked in from the get go on this one. I great book that discusses the current trend towards what I believe will be the future business model and what businesses should be looking to do to be a part of their customers online social network. Its about engaging with the consumer and not trying to control them any longer. Its about trying to make partnerships rather than ownerships. This book will provide good insight as to how the internet today is changing business and marketing.
These are only the 2 most recent books I have read. As a long time internet junky providing web design, development, seo, pay per click marketing & social media rest assured my library has grown. I often think that experience & a good library can make anyone a professional at what they do. Fresh Input is happy to review any potential client’s website and discuss design and online marketing strategies for FREE. Contact us for your Web Design Solutions.

Do you know the quality of your traffic?
Posted by admin in Web Solutions on June 21st, 2009
I recently spoke about Bounce Rate and Pages Per Visit and wanted to discuss with my clients and any potential clients the importance of these numbers. Lots of companies will talk about how many visitors they can send to your website, but honestly this is just blowing smoke up your skirt. There may be times your web company doesn’t want to discuss the other numbers because maybe they feel you will not understand all of these other number or maybe they are trying to mask the truth behind the numbers. The failure of a company to discuss these numbers with their client and explain to them the importance of numbers such as the bounce rate, pages per visit and time on the website is ultimately a disservice to any company working to make capital from their online presence. These reports are direct indications of the quality of the traffic on your website. What I mean by this, is while you may have someone telling you “hey, we sent you 10,000 visitors last month” the truth of the matter is what are they doing once they arrive to your website. When bounce rates are high, pages per visit are low and time on the website is less, then you know your website is failing somewhere. Whether it is the design, functionality or lack of content on the website, your website is somehow failing to turn that traffic into a potential customer.
At Fresh Input we are not afraid to discuss these numbers with our clients. We want to help educate our clients and deliver a website that performs. Our goal is to make the traffic, once on your website, turn into a customer, therefore giving you a better return on your investment (ROI). We want to work with you because we are all about providing fresh input!
